Tearing Down Walls and Building Legacies: Marvin's 110-Year Journey of Ingenuity and Grit!
In 1912, George Marvin established the Marvin Lumber and Cedar Company in Warroad, Minnesota, where hard work and integrity were a way of life.
Fast forward to 1939, enter George's eldest son, Bill. Warroad's veterans needed jobs, and Bill had a visionary plan to train them up as skilled fabricators of window and door components with innovative, top-of-the-line woodworking equipment. George was not a fan of the new technology, but one fateful day, when George was conveniently out of town, Bill set his plan in motion. When a hole in the company wall was required to fit the new machinery in the building, there was no turning back for Bill!
The risk paid off and Marvin soared to new heights under Bill's wing, becoming the multi-state, go-to manufacturer for custom windows and doors. Despite fires, recessions, and more plot twists than a soap opera, the Marvins kept their eyes on the prize. Bill's children – Frank, Jake, George, Susan, and Bob – not only inherited the business but turned it into a national sensation.
